Dismantling Systems of Oppression in Our Work
As we all are called to action to interrupt, confront and dismantle systems of oppression, we know that we are also being called to look within – as individuals, professionals, and community members. Now, more than ever, advocates for sex education need to keep racial justice and equity at the forefront of our minds, our missions, and our work. White supremacy touches every aspect of our history, culture, and institutions. This impacts the opportunities for Black, Brown, Indigenous and People of Color to achieve and thrive in our Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened and ASL (including interpreter) communities. jooux Center LLC is committed to continue the work of dismantling systems of oppressions. We’ve also recognized the importance for Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened folks to have representations in every aspect of their lives, whether that may be an academic, healthcare, legal, or therapy setting. jooux has established three new scholarship funds for our communities to amplify and lift Black, Brown, Indigenous and People of Color.
